Sarantis Gagas - Antonis Michaelides - Alexandros Plomaritis
08-01-2026Sarantis Gagas _ Antonis Michaelidis _ Alexandros Plomaritis
08.01 – 31.01.2025
Opening Thursday, January 8, 2026, 6:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
In Sarantis Gagas' artistic game rules, 'concealments', with their entire processing procedure that follows, highlight an experiential journey of correlations between ideas and craftsmanship. His enigmatic compositions highlight their earthly materials in a reasonable way, suggesting a topographical stance that shifts the perception of preserving the 'precious' to visual metaphors, where circumstances and coincidences play a decisive role.
For Antonis Michailidis, anthropological interpretations of African myths—considered the oldest in human history—take on the narrative framework of his 'sculptural'/totemic world. Drawing his decisive signs from an archetypal ark of ancient knowledge about the creation of the Universe, the transformations of the World, and the creation of Civilizations, he shapes his hybrid visual allegories, stepping into the unanswered questions of thought. In Alexandros Plomaritis' photographic documentation of his performances, the 'body' is rendered with a particularly energetic dynamism as a vehicle of memory, trauma, fear, and loss in relation to concepts such as identity, homeland, and otherness. The transformation of the movement of actions into a static image creates a new perception of the body and its environment, where the momentary version of experience (momentum) is established while the infinity of time is simultaneously revealed.

Dimitris Efeoglou

Dimitris Efeglou "after the first frost" February 5–March 6, 2026 Opening Thursday, February 5, 2026, 6:00–9:30 p.m. The exhibition "after the first frost" is constructed through a process of visual, physical, and conceptual movement in the forest environment. The materiality of the forest, the roughness of the trunks, the branches, the foliage, the relief of the ground, the dirt paths, and the hut as a sign of human presence, come or return to my surfaces as traces and gestures—expressing the relationship between the natural lived environment and its artistic reconstruction. The painted surface functions as a space where the landscape is created through the idea of contemplation and memory. It is a body of work that undergoes a process of continuous transformation, as the surfaces undergo successive changes from layers of color. The forms are erased and reshaped by small repetitive and neurotic gestures. Underneath one layer of material there is a second, underneath that there is a third, and underneath all of them there is a first image that is drawn, erased, recreated, and constantly changing. The initial image recedes and becomes suggestive. Painting here functions as a means of accessing forest scenes, while the visual practice does not describe the place but retains its uncharted quality. Every dense color, every gesture that runs across the small and large surfaces of canvas, wood, and paper "builds" a new imaginary environment.
